10 things you didn't know about the women of North Korea. Subscribe: https://goo.gl/Hnoaw3 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- North Korea is a fascinating country that tries hard to maintain a level of secrecy. Despite the lack of information about this region, intel about the way the country is run has leaked to other areas of the world. One of the most surprising aspects is the way women are treated and the jobs they’re forced to work. From rice inspectors to farmers, and forced labor workers, we’ll show you a few of the shocking ways women in North Korea make a living. This is: 10 Weird Jobs All Women MUST DO In North Korea. A few of the most prestigious jobs for women include a traffic cop, an entertainer for their leader, and a pop star. These women are handpicked by Kim Jong-un and are considered some of the best looking women in the entire country. Those who aren’t chosen to work directly for the leader are forced to work in low-paying jobs that are designed for the lower class. In most countries, a teacher must have the right credentials in order to teach students. However, in North Korea, a woman only needs to have some major accordion-playing skills in order to become an educator. Make sure to watch our video to find out which song they play for their students every morning. While some women go the legal route and take jobs in the military or as a decoy churchgoer, others head to the black market. Selling illegal goods has become a booming industry in North Korea, and many women are forced to skirt the law just to make ends meet. If this all sounds interesting but a bit weird to you, make sure to watch our video. Let us know in the comments which of these odd jobs shocked you the most. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheTalko Twitter: https://twitter.com/thetalko Instagram: https://instagram.com/the_talko ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.thetalko.com/

The very first female pilot to fly the US Air Force F-35 fighter aircraft. The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is a family of single-seat, single-engine aircraft. EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. - Lt. Col. Christine Mau, 33rd Fighter Wing Operations Group deputy commander, completed her first training flight in the single-seat fifth-generation fighter following 14 virtual training missions in the Full Mission Simulator at the F-35 Academic Training Center. “It wasn’t until I was taxiing to the runway that it really struck me that I was on my own in the jet,” said Mau, formerly an F-15E Strike Eagle pilot. “I had a chase aircraft, but there was no weapons system officer or instructor pilot sitting behind me, and no one in my ear like in simulators.” And with that, like the other 87 F-35A pilots trained over the last four years at Eglin, Mau thundered down the runway and was airborne as the first woman in the Air Force’s premier fighter. “It felt great to get airborne. The jet flies like a dream, and seeing the systems interact is impressive. Flying with the Helmet Mounted Display takes some adjusting, but it’s an easy adjustment,” said Mau. “The training missions in the simulator prepare you very well, so you’re ready for that flight.” The initial flight in the F-35 training syllabus is designed to orient pilots with the physical aspects of flying the F-35 compared to other fighters they’ve flown previously, such as the F-15E Strike Eagle, F-15C Eagle, F-16 Falcon, A-10 Warthog or F-22 Raptor. Women have served in combat aviation roles in those and other aircraft for more than 20 years. Mau acknowledged that although she may be the first female in the F-35 program, her gender has no bearing on her performance as a fighter pilot. Mau joked that the only difference between her and her fellow F-35 pilots is the size of her G-suit and facemask. They are both extra-small. “Flying is a great equalizer,” said Mau. “The plane doesn’t know or care about your gender as a pilot, nor do the ground troops who need your support. You just have to perform. That’s all anyone cares about when you’re up there – that you can do your job, and that you do it exceptionally well.” Mau’s combat experience and technical prowess in the cockpit were the primary draws for her selection to her position with the 33rd Operations Group. “Lt. Col. Mau brings a valuable level of combat and operational knowledge to our team,” said Col. Todd Canterbury, 33rd Fighter Wing commander. “We’re nearly a year out from declaring Initial Operational Capability with the F-35. We need battle-tested pilots to help us put the F-35A through its paces and ensure we have a trained and ready force of F-35 pilots to feed into our combat air forces.” Canterbury witnessed Mau’s leadership and combat effectiveness first-hand when they were both deployed to Afghanistan in 2011, where she was part of another important milestone for women in the combat aviation community. While with the 389th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron, Mau was part of the first all-female combat sortie. The combat mission provided air support to coalition and Afghan forces in the Kunar Valley, Afghanistan. From the pilots and weapons system officers of the two F-15E jets to the mission planners and maintainers, the entire mission was carried out entirely by women. “As a service, we need to attract the most innovative and skillful Airmen possible for one reason – it makes us more effective,” said Canterbury. “The broader the net that we cast into the talent pool, coupled with a laser focus on performance, ensures we have the best Airmen in place to carry out the mission. Performance is key, and it’s the standard we hold all of our Airmen to in the Air Force,” said Canterbury. Video Description Credit: 1st Lt. Hope Cronin Video Credits: Staff Sgt. 10 Jobs North Korean Women CANNOT Do Subscribe: https://goo.gl/Hnoaw3 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It seems like there isn’t a week that goes by that North Korea isn’t making headlines. Whether you are interested in this country or not, they don’t give a lot of information about how they run their country. But, one thing everyone knows, women don’t have the same rights as men in North Korea. These are 10 jobs that are forbidden for women in North Korea. If you are born into a lower class family in North Korea, you are going to have a hard time. This is especially true for women. They will never have the chance to go to school, choose their careers, and in some cases, they will never even have a job. Watch the video to see why. Even women born to higher class parents will still have struggles when it comes to having the career they want. The government won’t let women hold high ranking jobs in the military or government. That means women won’t have the chance to be political leaders nor will they ever be judges. But, there are a few careers that don’t discriminate between the classes. This is because there are certain rules in place in North Korea, and some careers are forbidden because they aren’t even thought of. Jobs, like being a makeup artist or having a dream career, will simply never happen for North Korean women because they dont even know they exist. Check out the video to see more about these forbidden jobs and more like computer science, grey markets, and much more. Pakistan's first female fighter pilot helps break the glass ceiling for women. Full Story: Through the ages - the military life has traditionally been a man's world. But one woman in Pakistan has broken through the glass ceiling, and her career is really taking off. Meet Pakistan's first female fighter pilot, 26 year old Ayesha Farooq. She's one of five female fighter pilots in Pakistan, but is the first to have passed the test qualifying her for combat. My colleagues are very cooperative. We take challenges, like who will do more precise bombing and everything. So I don't feel like there is any difference." It's been a long time coming... although women have served in Pakistan's armed forces since 1947, they have largely been confined to desk jobs and medical work. But attitudes towards women are changing. Over the past decade women have become sky marshals, and a select few are serving in anti-terrorist forces. [Naseem Abbas, Wing Commander]: "So, for me, its good whether I have female pilots or male pilots. As far as they are able to fight, they are able to fly." Pakistan now has 316 women in the air force compared to around 105 years ago - a remarkable rise in this conservative country where many women are expected to stay grounded in traditional roles.. An inspirational video of the first US Air Force C-17 transport aircraft pilot. The Boeing C-17 Globemaster III is a large military transport aircraft. It was developed for the United States Air Force (USAF) from the 1980s to the early 1990s by McDonnell Douglas. The C-17 carries forward the name of two previous piston-engined military cargo aircraft, the Douglas C-74 Globemaster and the Douglas C-124 Globemaster II. The C-17 commonly performs strategic airlift missions, transporting troops and cargo throughout the world; additional roles include tactical airlift, medical evacuation and airdrop duties. Boeing, which merged with McDonnell Douglas in the 1990s, continued to manufacture C-17s for export customers following the end of deliveries to the U.S. Air Force. Aside from the United States, the C-17 is in service with the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, NATO Heavy Airlift Wing, India, and Kuwait. The final C-17 was completed at the Long Beach, CA plant and flown on 29 November 2015.[3] Development[edit] Background and design phase[edit] In the 1970s, the U.S. Air Force began looking for a replacement for its Lockheed C-130 Hercules tactical cargo aircraft.[4] The Advanced Medium STOL Transport (AMST) competition was held, with Boeing proposing the YC-14, and McDonnell Douglas proposing the YC-15.[5] Though both entrants exceeded specified requirements, the AMST competition was canceled before a winner was selected. The Air Force started the C-X program in November 1979 to develop a larger AMST with longer range to augment its strategic airlift.[6] By 1980, the USAF found itself with a large fleet of aging C-141 Starlifter cargo aircraft. Compounding matters, USAF needed increased strategic airlift capabilities to fulfill its rapid-deployment airlift requirements. The USAF set mission requirements and released a request for proposals (RFP) for C-X in October 1980. McDonnell Douglas elected to develop a new aircraft based on the YC-15; Boeing bid an enlarged three-engine version of its AMST YC-14. Lockheed submitted two designs, a C-5-based design and an enlarged C-141 design. On 28 August 1981, McDonnell Douglas was chosen to build its proposed aircraft, then designated C-17. Compared to the YC-15, the new aircraft differed in having swept wings, increased size, and more powerful engines.[7] This would allow it to perform the work done by the C-141, and also fulfill some of the duties of the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy, freeing the C-5 fleet for outsize cargo.[7] Alternate proposals were pursued to fill airlift needs after the C-X contest. These were lengthening of C-141As into C-141Bs, ordering more C-5s, continued purchases of KC-10s, and expansion of the Civil Reserve Air Fleet. Limited budgets reduced program funding, requiring a delay of four years. During this time contracts were awarded for preliminary design work and for the completion of engine certification.[8] In December 1985, a full-scale development contract was awarded.[9] At this time, first flight was planned for 1990.[8] The Air Force had formed a requirement for 210 aircraft.[10] Development problems and limited funding caused delays in the late 1980s.[11] Criticisms were made of the developing aircraft and questions were raised about more cost-effective alternatives during this time.[12][13] In April 1990, Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney reduced the order from 210 to 120 aircraft.[14] The maiden flight of the C-17 took place on 15 September 1991 from the McDonnell Douglas's plant in Long Beach, California, about a year behind schedule.[15][16] The first aircraft (T-1) and five more production models (P1-P5) participated in extensive flight testing and evaluation at Edwards Air Force Base.[17] Two complete airframes were built for static and repeated load testing.[16] Development difficulties[edit] A static test of the C-17 wing in October 1992 resulted in the wing failing at 128% of design limit load, which was below the 150% requirement. Both wings buckled rear to the front and failures occurred in stringers, spars and ribs.[18] Some $100 million was spent to redesign the wing structure; the wing failed at 145% during a second test in September 1993.[19] A careful review of the test data however, showed that the wing was not loaded correctly and did indeed meet the requirement.[20] The C-17 received the "Globemaster III" name in early 1993.[7] In late 1993, the Department of Defense gave the contractor two years to solve production and cost overrun problems or face termination of the contract after the delivery of the 40th aircraft.[21] By accepting the 1993 terms, McDonnell Douglas incurred a loss of nearly US$1.5 billion on the development phase of the program.[17] In April 1994, the C-17 program remained over budget, and did not meet weight, fuel burn, payload and range specifications. It failed several key criteria during airworthiness evaluation tests.[22][23][24]

We’ll give you some inside perspective about what it is like to be a woman living under the North Korean regime. Surprisingly, things have relaxed a bit under the regime of their leader Kim Jong-un, and women are now allowed to have cosmetic surgery to appear more attractive and further their careers. Of course, this isn’t so much a leisure cosmetic practice, but more of an unofficial requirement frequently performed by unqualified people in unsanitary conditions. For those that prefer less invasive beauty methods, you might be surprised to know that despite proclaiming to hate South Korea, the beauty products from their greatest enemy are their absolute favorite. In North Korea, women are forced to serve in the military for seven years, but they are subjected to countless atrocities and receive very little actual training. In many cases, they do not even receive the nutrition that they need in order to remain in good health. Serving in the armed forces is just one way that women in North Korea are called upon to serve the regime, and they are forced to do some even more unscrupulous things that may shock you. You may think that women in the United States made a big deal about the love story in the movie Titanic, but for one North Korean woman that story gave her the desire and the courage to defect from North Korea. How many of you pretty ladies want to work in the aviation industry? Well, I do. It’s just so cool to fly and see new places that too for free. As we all know airlines (especially the ones in India like Indigo, Spicejet, Jet Airways, Go Air, etc) want doll like faces and perfect bodies so I am showing you a step by step tutorial on how the eye and lip makeup should be done and what type of outfit should be worn. They are very strict about the dress code. Along with how to that neat and clean hairstyle. everything from hair to makeup, outfit to nails needs to be perfect because they reject people in the first round itself if the grooming is not right and I have seen people getting rejected because their nails were not painted the right shade or their shirts had minor creases Do your base. Use primer, concealer and foundation which provides proper coverage Apply a black or darkened brown eyeliner. I’ve again used Maybelline colossal kajal. Make sure the eyeliner is waterproof and smudge proof because you might end up siting at the interview office for the whole day because they do all the rounds together sometimes mascaras. Again use a waterproof one which does not clump and holds the curl for hours. I’ve used Maybelline colossal mascara. Fill in your eyebrows. And tada your eyes are ready. My color suggestions would be nude, blotted red, coral and warm pink lipsticks which are not too bright and stays longer. I’ve used and blotted bobbi brown artstick in harlow red. I’ve again used bobbi brown artstick I harlow red on my cheeks. Just put a few dots and blend quickly. And your makeup is done! I suggest you to wear a good quality Georgette formal shirt as it won’t crease with a black or grey formal skirt and black stockings. Shoes and handbag needs to be neutral. Do not wear very high heels; 2-3 inch heel is more than enough. And you are ready to impress the interviewers with your personality. That’s how you look presentable and interview ready in the hotel management or aviation industry. Cabin crew or flight attendants are shortlisted in the first round on the basis of their overall presentation. You need to be an excellent communicator, place high value on great customer service, you need to be hard-working, proactive, have a good awareness of safety, be able to follow instructions and implement protocol, manage conflict and deal with difficult people and situations calmly….the list is pretty long! But by giving some thought to what is required in the role you can get a good idea of what sort of questions you might be able to expect. Think about what cabin crew are like when you board a plane- friendly, smiley, chatty. This is how you need to come across! Consider how well turned out cabin crew always are. Dress smartly, showing you know how to take care in your appearance. If you have long hair, tie it into the sort of style you can imagine cabin crew wearing. Maintain eye contact with your interviewers- you are talking to them after all If you don’t understand a question ask for it to be repeated- that’s fair better than getting to wrong end of the stick Answer the question you have been asked, not what you want to say! A surprising number of candidates don’t answer the question If you are asked for an example from your own experience make sure you describe one; don’t just give an opinion instead Describe a specific, single example rather than talk generally i.e. ‘on one occasion I did xxx’ rather than ‘I always do xxx’. If you can’t answer a question don’t be afraid to say so. You could even say, ‘I did read about x,y and z but it didn’t cover that unfortunately’ If there are more than one interviewer address your answers to all of them Don’t be put off if they have their heads down making notes for much of the time, they are gathering evidence that they will score you on later Take your time to give a good example if you are asked for one, don’t feel you need to rush in with the first thing that pops into your head Have a few examples prepared before you go in but make sure they are relevant to the question you are asked Don’t talk too quickly, it will be too difficult for them to take proper notes of what you are saying If you are likely to twist your hands nervously, hold them! Take a glass of water if offered- talking a lot can give you a dry mouth! Be honest- integrity is an important quality in cabin crew so if you are caught out in a lie or exaggeration it won’t go down well. If you don’t have experience of something then say so, but explain what you would hope to learn as part of the role. Many of us are uncomfortable ‘bigging ourselves up’ and can prefer to downplay our achievements but this is not the time or the place. If you have done well at something you need to highlight this. It’s not about bragging, it’s about presenting an accurate picture of yourself. It’s important to do so as your word is what the interviewers will go on.

Now you can! We were out filming in Simpson Bay at St Maarten, Caribbean the other day and came across "VENUS" sitting proudly at anchor, just getting ready to head to sea! We filmed several yachts, including the 157ft SuperYacht "C2", owned by Ronald Perelman.. Billionaire investor and philanthropist with holdings in Revlon Group of womens cosmetics, and AM General which is the company known for the Hummer and Humvee utility vehicles. At 82m in length, "VENUS" was the direct brain child of the late Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple for many years. Jointly designed with Philippe Starck, the yacht elegantly boasts pure simplicity in line with Steve Job's desire to design private, quiet places that provided the Zen like atmosphere that he preferred. Steve was once quoted as saying, "I've tried to be inspired by the Asian idea that emptiness is more important than fullness"... Hence the famous transparent chair he designed in 1998 called "The Marie" that he believed to be an "almost perfect object", just as his idea to bring "VENUS" to life as the Elegance of Minimal. Unfortunately, Steve Jobs passed away before ever getting to see his final masterpiece come to life, but the family brought the project to completion and now "VENUS" roams the Earth in Steve's memory with a fixed crew of 22 onboard.
